Barbados Barbados is a Caribbean Island country with strong ties to England as it was a colony for many years, hence the nickname 'Little England'. This West Indies Island is a favourite long-haul destination among the British, with frequent flights into the capital, Bridgetown. Barbados offers sun drenched, white sand beaches, and an array of water sports activities abound such as jet-skiing, snorkelling and diving. The tranquil Caribbean Sea hugs the Western coast of Barbados, while the more energetic Atlantic on the Eastern coast makes for popular surfing locales. Apart from the heavenly beaches and the pristine waters there are other things that the island has to offer like exotic plants, fruits, and an entertaining nightlife.
English is the primary language and the currency is Barbados dollars, although US dollars are widely accepted. The locals are known as Bajans, and will quickly show you how to relax in this paradise.

barbados is beautiful, as you come into land the colour of the sea is breathtaking, on deparing the aircraft the smell of the bajan spices hits your nostrils this was our fourth visit to the island and we dont wish to go anywhere else, im now trawling the web to find a holiday there for a month to get away from the depressing weather here, the people of barbados are warm and welcoming and my husband says with an island that the sun shines almost continually , the people speak english they drive on the left and play dominoes as a national pastime you cant go wrong absolutely delightfull , a trip to the flower caves is a must as is harrisons caves. getting lost in the "interior was a good experience " but we wernt lost for long if you can find a road with a bus stop you know you will get back to civilisation the only bad part of our holdays was having to leave, but we always come away with the thought that we will back next year and start trawling the net , our holidays are always self catering, the food shopping is great the water drinkable as its filtered through coral and the people you meet are great roll on 2008, were coming back.

Fantasic caribbean Island we have been 5 times now have been to other caribbean destinations but Barbados has everything and is top of the list everytime. It has a great vibe, friendly people, a relaxed outlook, fab beaches, great nightlife, good shopping in bridgetown, plenty to see and do from submarine adventures to horseriding and helicopter tours I love the place that much I even got married there in 2005. The public and private busses are cheap and frquent the island is small enough to drive round in a day so much to see do smell and taste yes the food is fresh and fantastic even has its own burger type franchise much better than mc donalds (you won't find a mc donalds here!) the rum punch and cocktails and beach partys are legendary Barbados is the ultimate Luxury holiday that can be done on a reasonable budget too! I am hoping to take my other half and 2yr old to Barbados this September or December fingers crossed!X

Can't fault Barbados 1 bit... I wanted to explore the coral sea and sandy beaches and go scuba diving, it was so beautiful and the resort was very open, with lots of palm trees, bar huts, restaurants etc. The hotel had a sea view, so waking up in the morning to the sound of the sea was awsome! There were 3 pools with in the resort so you was never crowded and you had your space to relax, swim and sit under the water fall too. Everyone were so nice and welcoming, this was the best experience of my life.
