Calis Beach

Although this famous busy resort is quite crowded its endless beach make it seem a quiet place to rest and enjoy the sea and the sun. All along the paved sea promenade plenty of bars and restaurants, it offers the best sunsets you can imagine. Some parts of the beach are popular with the turtle population so is not difficult to find these curious tourists there. People with mobility restrictions will be welcome in this flat resort.

Calis Beach, Bodrum Peninsula, Turkey Holiday Review

Submitted by: Ciara
Date of travel: 05-July-2009

We have just visited this resort for the second time with our two children who are under five. Yet again we enjoyed the resort with its soaring temperatures and exceptionally warm welcome (especially for young children). Unfortunately our enjoyment of this otherwise wonderful holiday was marred slightly by the lack of efficiency and due care and attention of Starfish Lettings; the letting agency through whom we had booked our self catering duplex apartment online. We stayed at Aqua Apartments and despite the fact that the apartment was modern, clean and comfortable, set in beautifully maintained gardens with a good sized pool; one major thing was missing - SECURITY! One of the doors to the apartment was unlocked and remained so for the duration of our stay as we were not provided with a key despite constant requests. We were burgled twice in two days while we and our children slept!!! I just thank God that it was only material things that disappeared. I would strongly recommend a visit to Calis Beach, but not to the Aqua Apartments let by Starfish Lettings!

Calis Beach, Bodrum Peninsula, Turkey Holiday Review - Nice apartments.

Me and my boyfriend went to Calis Beach and we stayed at the Forest Valley apartments and they were absolutely beautiful, very posh. The pool area wasn't very big and the pool its self was a funny shape and the apartments were in quiet location but that made it more relaxing and peaceful to be honest. The beach was a 20 minute walk but that wasn't a problem as the exercise did us the world of good. And the scenery on the way was fantastic. I can't believe how gorgeous the apartments were. There was a choice of bars, shops and restaurants close by so if we got bored of BBQ's and eating in then we could pick and choose. Best of both worlds. We are definitely going back in a couple of years.

Calis Beach, Bodrum Peninsula, Turkey Holiday Review - The Nontraditional Family Spot

Submitted by: Geniveve
Date of travel: 25-March-2006

We wanted the real feel of Calis. Instead of booking the fancy hotels all along the coast lines we had rooms in the smaller family run properties in the back away from the seafront. That was much nicer. Home cooked meals from the family restaurants, my children playing with those of the owners, and time to learn about their culture. It does not get that personal in hotels. We took our personal hike through the mountains, not the one organized by guides. We hiked for 2 hours and then ate lunch. Since we were going downhill the hike down only took an hour and a half after which rest on the beach was in order. The beach was protect by a lifeguard and kept very tidy. Soccer balls were available to rent as well as beach contests were often play like tug of war and limbo. During our dinners we looked out on the bay and would rent canoes before the sunset. The nights were quiet and not dominated by loud music or drunkards. No, once the babies were put down we spent nights a cafes or in the lobby with the owners. There are a couple of discos but they were not out of hand. Great place for family time and safe location. Attractive location with many relaxing things to do.
