Porches is situated somewhere between Alcantarilha and Lagoa in the Algarve, and is an un-spoilt extraordinary village that has become very famous for the traditional Portuguese pottery. This village, which is only 5kelometres inland from the brilliant beach of Armacao de Pera, is dominated by the famous there pottery industry, where a lot of the local shops provide built-in cafes and workshops attached to them. This place certainly is ideal for those looking for peace and tranquility, with some of the best beaches and attractions of the Algarve very near by. The stunning village of Porches is made out of white-washed buildings with chimneys, and home to a few ancient castle ruins. Whilst visiting, you will find a few exciting places in the surrounding areas, that includes the small village of Alcantarilha and the pretty town of Lagoa, best-known for its' vineyards.
