Hong Kong Hong Kong literally meaning "fragrant harbour" is a favourite and most popular travel destination in Asia, where the exotic East fuses with the contemporary west as a dynamic contemporary city.
Hong Kong is a vast and varied city, drawing its diversity from a range of historical influences, not least British and Chinese. It is a colourful kaleidoscope of attractions to arouse the senses: spectacular sightseeing, sensational shopping and fabulous foods - perhaps the number one highlight of this gastronomic city. Hong Kong is also known as an excellent destination for shopping as prices are comparably cheaper than the US, Europe or Japan with no sales tax on anything. Popular shopping items include consumer electronics, clothes, shoes, jewelleries and expensive brand names goods. On the surface, it's an urban landscape however take time to explore the small curious nooks, as well as the beautiful greenery and hiking trails, and you will find it a unique location to spend a holiday.
Vibrant and exciting, Hong Kong offers fantastic nightlife and world class cuisine and October and November are the best months to visit this fascinating destination.

Hong Kong Holiday Review

Hong Kong has got to be the most bizarre but fascinating city in the world! From the smell at Kennedy Market to the shiny Pacific Place Shopping plaza, everything about Hong Kong is full of contrasts.
Make sure you take in some of the natural beauty of the island as well as the crazy city. I recommend the Peak. The views are amazing. You can also walk from Park View, through a national park past the reservoirs and then pick up a bus to Stanley Beach. There you will find a great market and lots of beachside restaurants. DONT go in the water though!
Shek-ko beach is ok to swim in. And there is a FANTASTIC THai restaurant there.
The food in Hong Kong is brilliant. You can find anything you want there from Sushi to Dim Sum to Steak and Fries! Try Happy Valley/Causeway Bay area for the best authentic Chinese food.
The other islands that surround Hong Kong are gorgeous. Lantau Island and Lamma Island are the most popular but my favourite is Cheung Chau.
You can find loads of fake designer clobber.... and the real stuff is pretty reasonably priced too! Be wary of pick pockets though. No fabric bags in public are advisable. They should be thick leather as my cotton handbag got cut open in a crowd. And tie your sholaces tight! or you might lose your shoes in the thronging crowds!
