Malta & Gozo

Malta is an island country located in the Mediterranean Sea south of Sicily, Italy. As part an archipelago of islands, Malta is one of the few that is inhabited. Malta is one of the most historical places on earth, although it has wonderful resorts and exquisite sandy beaches which alone are alluring to visitors from all over the world. There is a very deep and rich history to the islands that stretches back thousands of years. Malta's ruins and historical artefacts date back further than the great pyramids of Egypt. All this makes Malta a very exciting and mysterious destination to explore. The capital, Valletta, was built by the Knights of St. John and boasts impressive churches, palaces and bastions. You can explore this breathtaking country by bus, helicopter, car, and taxi (if you have to). Boat trips to nearby islands are also available. The Maltese lira, also known as pounds, is the local currency.
