Morocco

The Kingdom of Morocco is located in North Africa it borders the North Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Tourists are drawn by its spectacular mountain scenery, its colourful souks (markets), and bustling cities. France and Spain once ruled Morocco, and these European influences have left a lasting impression. The country has forged a distinctive culture, which is apparent in its arts and architecture, language, and cuisine. Tagine's (stews) are the national dish and can be found on the menus of every Moroccan restaurant, it will usually accompanied by couscous, and a cup of sweet Mint tea is commonly used to end the meal.

Morocco Holiday Review - Marrakech

Submitted by: Rae
Date of travel: 04-April-2009

My wife and I went for a four day break to Marrakech. We stayed at the Hotel Nassim on Avenue Mohommed IV, which is the main road between Agadir and Casablanca, and right in the centre of Marrakech. It is a 10 minute walk to the Souk, the arab markets in the Old City, and there are plenty of top class restaurants within a few minutes walk of the hotel. You get a real feel for the arab culture in the Souk, with loads of friendly haggling over everything from fruit and veg to suitcases. The High Atlas mountains are just outside the city, and a short bus ride away, and the Berber villages in the foothills are well worth visiting. Even in early April we got tanned within a few minutes of being in tyhe sun.

Ahh!!!!!!!!! Mararkech we took a trip there in 2008 it was amazing it was like stepping into a movie of indiana jones. We took a day trip to atlas mountians in a four by four and ate chickhen tagineen. You need to go. Its a place to explore, relax, dicover or just observe. .The people are freindly, the architecture is somthing to see so creative yet at times simple. the market place is an unbeleivable adventure there were snake charmers, story tellers and mint tea. You have to taste the mint tea. Once you do thats all you will want to drink. Im not exaggerating. Im still drinking it.Ahh!! Marrakech a must experience.

I spent last week in Marrakech and I was fascinated by this city! One of my favourite things the Jemma el Djemaa el fna square… with dancers, storytellers… something taken from a film. Don't forget to go to a Hammam!
