Morocco Holiday Review - Marrakech

My wife and I went for a four day break to Marrakech. We stayed at the Hotel Nassim on Avenue Mohommed IV, which is the main road between Agadir and Casablanca, and right in the centre of Marrakech. It is a 10 minute walk to the Souk, the arab markets in the Old City, and there are plenty of top class restaurants within a few minutes walk of the hotel. You get a real feel for the arab culture in the Souk, with loads of friendly haggling over everything from fruit and veg to suitcases. The High Atlas mountains are just outside the city, and a short bus ride away, and the Berber villages in the foothills are well worth visiting. Even in early April we got tanned within a few minutes of being in tyhe sun.

I spent last week in Marrakech and I was fascinated by this city! One of my favourite things the Jemma el Djemaa el fna square… with dancers, storytellers… something taken from a film. Don't forget to go to a Hammam!

Djemma el Fna is definitely worth a visit, this square is the heart of Marrakech. It comes alive at night with snake-charmers, acrobats, musicians and food vendors. The square leads to the souks, where you can pick up all sorts of crafts, metal work, leather goods and spices – in order to get the best from the souks haggling is a must!
