Forts and castles are strewn across the country the most important are Jalali and Mirani which stand at the entrance to Muscut Bay. Oman has a lot to offer outdoor enthusiasts, the largely untouched coastline is a paradise for scuba divers, and the mountains make it an ideal place for camping and rock climbing. |

An obscure holiday destination but Oman is really amazing and beautiful. The people are kind and helpful – it is a very safe place with lots to do. Go on an excursion to the Wahhabi desert if you get a chance its lots of fun. I would also recommend the Fort in Bahla – the town is known for its pottery and there’s a fabulous souk to explore. It is a Muslim country so it’s important to observe a certain dress code in public places.
