Portugal Portugal is a country of astonishing beauty and diversity, not to mention clear blue skies and friendly, courteous people. Pick any destination and the view from your window might be a rugged stretch of windswept coastline (Cabo do São Vicente, Castelejo, Cabo Espichel), a pristine beach where fishermen mend their nets beside brightly painted sardine boats (Albufeira, Bordeira, Praia do Camilo) or a cobbled street overlooked by dazzling whitewashed houses with wooden balconies and red-tiled roofs. Portugal is a land of infinite options. |

Vilamoura, Algarve, Portugal Holiday Review

Date of travel: 13-October-2008
This will be our 3rd holiday to Vilamoura. The first time we stayed at Pay do Lago. The apartment was very spacious (1 bedroomed) and had patio doors which led you onto the footpath just a short walk to the outdoor pool. We also stayed at the Oasis Village which is the sister complex to Parque Mourabel/Pay Do Lago. The studio apartment was extremely well furnished and plenty of room for us. The Marina was about a 30 minute stroll from our accommodation and was very relaxed. There was also a train that could take you to the Marina. There are plenty of bars and restaurants to chose from and you could either make it as cheap or as expensive as you wanted to. The market at Quarteira is an excellent place to wander around and brouse the various stalls. Well worth a visit. Make sure you get there early as it gets quite crowded.
We hope to have another brilliant holiday this year.

Grande Oporto, Portugal Holiday Review

Upon visiting the Algarve I saw sights never seen by my eyes before. A wealth of beauty accompanied by the personalities of wonderful town locals. Each one as special as the other, from being friendly to helpful, charming to reassuring and a pleasure to be with; they provided us with the most amazing food and sent us off on our exploration of Portugal with fresh grown oranges from their trees. Having never seen an orange tree before, you really appreicate their beauty in the surroundings of a wonderful motel. The prices low, the scenery high, the food exquisite and the company so amazing that you feel part of what is going on in the area makes you feel right at home and able to enjoy what special time you have allocated to this amazing district of Portugal. My recommendations are to visit with high expectations and a willingness to be part of the town for your trip... not just someone on holiday.

Alvor, Algarve, Portugal Holiday Review - Lovely Alvor
Submitted by: Sylvia
Date of travel: 09-March-2008
We spent two week in Alvor and although the weather was a bit chilly we had a lovely time. We liked the fishing village part of Alvor and the beautiful beach even in winter. The buses were good to get about and we found plenty to do. Plenty of places to eat and the people were nice. We can't wait to go back.
