Caleta de Fuste

Caleta de Fuste in Fuerteventura is situated on the east coast of the island, roughly 10km south of the airport. It is sometimes known as El Castillo de Fuste, the "Castillo" (castle) referring to an 18th-century watchtower by the harbour, near a small marina and lighthouse. The resort of Caleta de Fuste thrives on tourism. Situated around a partly natural, partly man-made golden sandy beach, it has been carefully constructed into the shape of a horse shoe to avoid currents to make it safe for children of all ages and also a haven for water sports enthusiasts. The harbour is home to many yachts, catamarans and boats which provide local trips as well as providing a beautiful backdrop in the evenings. For those who prefer to spend more time in the water there is diving, jet ski hire or windsurf tuition available at the water centre on the beach. With lots of accommodation on offer and a multitude of good restaurants, Caleta caters for all tastes
