Playa Taurito This purpose built resort is a little beach spot close to Puerto Mogan, the main resort of the area. Settled on a small bay Playa Taurito is one of the resorts with the largest hotels and also the largest parking places. The place is suited for families or those who are looking for a tranquil stay. The resort also offers an expansive lido with an island with bars and restaurants connected by bridges, where you can enjoy a splendid pool service.

Playa Taurito, Gran Canaria, Spain Holiday Review - Honeymoon in the Canaries

We spent our honeymoon in a wonderful hotel near the little resort of Puerto de Mogan in the south west of Gran Canaria. This island is wonderful, with some beautiful little towns and villages to be found - don't be afraid to hire a car! We spent time in the mountains, as well as a day in the capital of Las Palmas, which had a brilliant indoor food market, and Christopher Columbus' house, which was open to the public, really interesting, beautiful, and best of all free! I would highly recommend the market in Puerto de Mogan on a Friday morning, as well as Maspalomas for the beautiful dunes and sandy beach, and Puerto Rico for the bars!

Playa Taurito, Gran Canaria, Spain Holiday Review - No Partiers Perfect for Us

Everything was fabulous about our holiday. We had exceptional staff, service, and food at the resort. There we many day activities so we never tired of one thing. We paid a little more and got into the lido area. Lovely place with places that you can sub-bathe without getting sand between the toes, gigantic pool, and an island with bars and bridges. The beach of Playa Taurito had natural BLACK sand which was hard to believe even when touching it. And no crazy nights with crazy teenagers running rampant. Nights were quiet filled with caf's not dance clubs so coffee and tea. Even a walk over to Puerto Mogan kept you in the relax night air. We went to dine and drink and for a change of scene. I shopped until I dropped at Playa del Ingles. It had more people than Taurito but a greater assortment of shopping complexes. Many of the people who I traveled with did not fancy walking. We took the bus for main transportation which proved cheap and easy on the bodies. Even taxis did not go over ?4 a piece once we shared the fair. In the park we had room to speed walk and eat lunches. What a tranquil break on the side of a valley.
