Puerto Rico Puerto Rico is a tourist spot located in the coast of Mogan municipality, in the south of Gran Canaria. Puerto Rico has a special micro-weather, soft temperature and stable humidity, and is well sheltered from the typical winds of the island by its surrounding orography. Puerto Rico extends along three valleys or parallel ravines that flow into in the Atlantic Ocean; from east to west: Agua de la Perra , Puerto Rico and Amadores. Last two are artificial beaches. Puerto Rico also has two sports ports (Port Base and Port of Escala), green parks, long strolls, shopping centers and numerous installations of leisure and sports. Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria, Spain Holiday Review - The Audacity

Last year we had a two week stay at the Gloria Palace Amadores. The hotel is beautiful in an astounding location on the cliffs in Puerto Rico. Wow, when we first saw the hotel we were in love. Fantastic room sizes, clean fresh environment, and extremely large all the way around. We had visions of watching the sun rise and sun set and eating breakfast and dinner respectively. Our resort fantasy was brought down to planet earth when the greeting staff member opened her mouth: ?Can I help you or would like to spend the greater part of your day standing there and looking around?? Hmmmm a little taken aback, we thought nothing of it and continued to check in. We went to the beach to relax and take in the sun which was amazing. The water was perfect with a backdrop of rocks, umbrellas and sand that were the perfect compliment.
Pushing rude comments out of mind and feeling good again about holiday we went to the hotel restaurant. Utter disaster. My brother and I waited 17 minutes (I timed it) before waiter took the order for our drinks. That was ridiculous. You would think that after a show like that they would offer complimentary drinks but instead it took them 8 minutes to get our drinks to us. Appalled by the time and not willing to wait 2 hours to be served dinner we asked for the check so that we could leave. If Jared would not have walked up to the waiter, our 5 minutes that we waited for the check would have turned into more. Just not believing the audacity we complained to the manager. He did NOT apologize but kept saying in an annoyed voice ?It will be taken care of.?
We experienced rude and sloppy service for our week there. If it were not for being on the island and doing all the outside things the trip would be ruined. We thought the attitude was an island thing but no. The people at the bars and outside waiters were quite kind. Other guests of the hotel that we spoke to felt the same way. The service was terrible and the management did nothing but make empty promises that ?It will be taken care of.?

Our apartments were at top of a hill in sight of everything. It was nice to be able to look out of your room window or the windows in the lobby and see all of the nature and places to go. The water park is worlds of fun. It is only 10 minutes by walking and well worth the walk. The beach is 10 minutes farther than that but when walking with others it did not feel that far at all. The food was great but we lost a lot of weight by walking up to the apartments and to the other destinations. Taxis and buses are good prices but we much rather walked because it was nice to look around. Our nights were packed full of excitement and dancing. Many of the bars served one Euro drinks every night and burgers and chips for less than 4 Euro. At each bar there was some entertaining thing to do like a karaoke contest, dancing celebration, or all you can eat wings for a low price.
When we wanted to go American we ate at Mc Donald’s and conversed with our fellow tourists. For the rest of the time we remained Spaniard tourists shopping on the strip, practicing the language and spending time relaxing by the bay.
