Playa Taurito, Gran Canaria, Spain Holiday Review - Honeymoon in the Canaries

We spent our honeymoon in a wonderful hotel near the little resort of Puerto de Mogan in the south west of Gran Canaria. This island is wonderful, with some beautiful little towns and villages to be found - don't be afraid to hire a car! We spent time in the mountains, as well as a day in the capital of Las Palmas, which had a brilliant indoor food market, and Christopher Columbus' house, which was open to the public, really interesting, beautiful, and best of all free! I would highly recommend the market in Puerto de Mogan on a Friday morning, as well as Maspalomas for the beautiful dunes and sandy beach, and Puerto Rico for the bars!

Me and my partner went to Gran Canaria. The hotel we stayed in the beds were hard. My partner got a bad back from the beds we asked to see the dr it was his day off. The weather was quite warm since we went late in the year we could not swim in the pool as the water was below freezing point, its the first cold jacuzzi that i have ever been in. We went on safari it was part on land then on water the water part was cancelled as there was a storm at sea. The local people were nice and friendly and tried to help as much as possible except dont try to get a dr as it could be his day off there.

I come to Gran Canaria every year and it never changes, in a good way that is of course. But the hotel we stayed in this year was amazing, the pool was on the roof and the view was absolutely wonderful. You could see for miles and the beach looked beautiful. There was a selection of fresh fruit and bottles of chilled water to help yourself to which was a good gesture. There was also a gym, sauna, steam room, cocktail bar, restaurant plus many other great facilities included. Through out the day there was a wide selection of activities going on so that kept you busy until the evening. One of my favorite bars was the Bachira which had live music and pole dancers, and there was a club called Heaven, that brought back some memories of when I was in my twenties. It’s a lively and fun resort, can be noisy at times but that’s expected where ever you go. Never short of anything going on, that’s why I always go back every year as you know what you’re going to get for your money’s worth. It’s my favorite place.
