Menorca is the second largest of the Balearic Islands and is not as large or as busy as its neighbour Mallorca, just 34kms away. It is said that Menorca is the ideal destination for a peaceful holiday, as it has many beaches, quaint fishing villages, pine woods and grazing fields. Like many other Spanish islands, Menorca offers several water activities, from sailing, windsurfing and paragliding to jet-skiing, diving and snorkeling as well as fishing and many other activities. Hiking is fast becoming a popular activity and the mountainous regions of Menorca have many trails that are suitable for all ages. Several of the trails lead through nature reserves and offer spectacular views. One of the best beaches along the island's coast is located at Cala Galdena which is a large beach in a magnificent setting.
