Kalkan, Bodrum Peninsula, Turkey Holiday Review - Romantic retreat

We fell in love with Kalkan on this our first trip to Turkey. Patara Prince was an excellent choice and great base for soaking up the beauty of Kalkan. The apartment is modern, well equipped and spacious, especially the king size bed – heaven! We enjoyed many a bottle of wine on the patio in the evening. The pool areas here were also amazing all 3 have views out to the sea and an infinity pool – wow! One thing that sticks in my mind was the beautiful aroma from the pretty flowers, it smells and feels like you’re in paradise. The restaurants in Kalkan were amazing! Most of them being candle lit and roof top so that you can further enjoy the pretty views – very romantic! There was such a wide choice of food available and it was all reasonably priced and delish! I would highly recommend the apartment and Patara Prince. It’s a hidden little gem. We had a truly relaxing break. Will be booking again very soon for next year.

My boyfriend and I flew into Kalkan at night and knew from that moment our holiday was magic. Kalkan is breathtaking at anytime but especially at night. The lights, the water that reflects the changing colors of the beautiful sky and the mountains created a perfect scene. It looked like a scene doctored in a travel agents catalogue to make clients pay millions of pounds for paradise. Kalkan is a historic town in Turkey and has to be the most enchanting place off of the entire Lycian Coast. We chose this place because we knew that not many people visit it. Due to our thinking we experienced a town unspoiled from overpopulation that still maintained its historic architecture, ancient history, lush nature and friendly people. Oh, we stayed in the most perfect apartments called the Atilla Poolside apartments. The prices were amazing and the apartments were big, comfortable, and clean. We spent time learning about Turkish history and viewing all of the sites that Kalkan had to offer. We scuba dived, went to the beach, danced and beach club and bars and tasted authentic Turkish dishes in the restaurants. Everyone there was super friendly and super helpful. Smiles ever on their faces and good customer service gave me the perfect holiday experience. We had no complaints and will bring the siblings and parents with us next time. We will take them on the mountain excursions to have the time and beautiful visions of their lives.
