Kas

Kas is a city in Turkey, it is situated in the South of the country. Its tiny beach less than 10 metres wide but it does have spectacular rock shelves, great for sea bathing. The town is pretty small and easy to walk around but packed full of hotels and restaurants. Down the road are numerous centres for canoeing, sea kayaking, cycling, walking and paragliding. The nearby “sunken city" of Kekova is a great day out!

Kas, Bodrum Peninsula, Turkey Holiday Review - Amazing Scenary

Submitted by: Leilanni
Date of travel: 15-October-2006

A charming resort composed of hills, open land, greenery and cobbled winding roads. It maintained many shops but they tended to be on the more expensive side. Some of the eateries were out of this world while others were too plain and average. Just outside of town there is a wall in the square where local men sit watching as things go on and have a drink. My husband and his brother spent time there speaking about the Kas culture and how it is ever changing with the times. My husbands sister in law and I made it up to the Friday market both times that held the cheaper shops and Turkish snacks on which to nibble. The beach was not that pleasant due to the lack of sand and too many pebbles, and the sand flies (who obviously did not need the sand to annoy us). Since we were not satisfied with our beach we went out on boats to others that were much better. The night atmosphere was nice and you could paraglide down the mountain right before sunset. Kas was well worth the 3 hour transfer from the airport.
