Ovacik, Bodrum Peninsula, Turkey Holiday Review - Amazing Holiday, Fab Location!

We travlled to Turkey at the end of August and stayed in a small, quiet complex called the Olive Grove. The apartment and complex were lovely, the owners absolutely fab. It was clean everywhere, the people were very friendly, many of them go back year after year and own the apartments on the complex. Ovacik itself is a quiet area, there are plently of little supermarkets and restaurants down the main road. There is always a dolmus (shared minibus) or taxi going past so it is easier to get to the livelier Hisaronu, which is only a 10 minute drive, and costs about 50p from Ovacik. Alternatively you can catch the dolmus the other way and go into the harbour town Fethiye. I think Ovacik was the perfect destination, very serene with gorgeous views, you can see Oludeniz from the balconies on the poolside apartments, or it can be lively if you take the quick trip into Hisaronu. The dolmus prices were the same back at 2am as they were in the afternoon! I could talk about Ovacik and my amazing holiday all day, it is definitely worth a visit and even if you just stay in a hotel there, it is prime location!

Ovacik, Bodrum Peninsula, Turkey Holiday Review - Quiet Ovacik

Spent a week at the Hotel Ova Resort in Ovacik, rooms were clean and well-kept. The staff couldn’t do enough for you; it was this and all the little extra touches which really made the holiday! Food was nice but bit repetitive. Ovacik is fairly small, it’s got a few shops and some traditional restaurants but the larger Hisaronu is only 20 minutes walk away.

I went to Ovacik earlier in the year with no expectations as i had never been to turkey. The resort is much quieter than i expected which suited me as i prefer to relax when i am on holiday. The views of the mountains around the resort add to the serenity of it all. The night life is not spectacular but its ideal for those who just want to relax and not over do it.
