Turkey Turkey spans over 2 continents it is the meeting point of Asia and Europe and is also surrounded by water on 3 sides. This makes Turkey a wonderful destination as there is a great mixture of culture, architecture and people. There are great beaches along the coast and wonderful scenic mountains. Turkey is also packed with a deep history that holds secrets over 10,000 years worth of civilization. The ancient city of Troy is also a major attraction of the country. |

Ovacik, Bodrum Peninsula, Turkey Holiday Review - Amazing Holiday, Fab Location!

We travlled to Turkey at the end of August and stayed in a small, quiet complex called the Olive Grove. The apartment and complex were lovely, the owners absolutely fab. It was clean everywhere, the people were very friendly, many of them go back year after year and own the apartments on the complex. Ovacik itself is a quiet area, there are plently of little supermarkets and restaurants down the main road. There is always a dolmus (shared minibus) or taxi going past so it is easier to get to the livelier Hisaronu, which is only a 10 minute drive, and costs about 50p from Ovacik. Alternatively you can catch the dolmus the other way and go into the harbour town Fethiye. I think Ovacik was the perfect destination, very serene with gorgeous views, you can see Oludeniz from the balconies on the poolside apartments, or it can be lively if you take the quick trip into Hisaronu. The dolmus prices were the same back at 2am as they were in the afternoon! I could talk about Ovacik and my amazing holiday all day, it is definitely worth a visit and even if you just stay in a hotel there, it is prime location!

resonable prices for everything, friendly people, lots and lots to do just a case of fitting it all in!
excursion to Dalyan is a must, go past the turtle beach and head for the mud bath, it's amazing.
it's imposible to get bored in turkey, there is much to do whether it's relaxing to a turkish bath, or going wild on the watersports. Its a place for everyone.
the hassle is a lot to cope with but once you pick up on how to get around it, it's not a problem. Something i would personally reccomend go to a turkish market, there is so much great things you can get for great prices if you get them down low enough, usually on once everyweek on a wednesday just ask you rep!
