Varna Region

The Varna region is the perfect place to enjoy a fine taste of Bulgaria and the Black Sea coast. Varna's own blue-flag beaches run along the curve of Varna bay but there is easy access to the well-established tourist areas of Golden Sands and Sunny Beach, which enjoy a warm climate and calm, clear waters. In addition to its outstanding shores the city of Varna is the third largest in Bulgaria and has a great deal to offer of a cultural nature. The city of Varna is a superb blend of ancient, mediaeval and renaissance architecture and has a relaxed, cosmopolitan atmosphere. One of the most notable landmarks is the magnificent 19th century Cathedral of 'The Assumption of the Holy Mother'.
Just a short stroll from the cathedral is the pedestrian shopping plaza where you can watch one of the spectacular fountain displays that go on throughout the day. The nightlife in the town offers a mixture of modern bars and clubs and traditional Bulgarian music venues.
