Safari Holidays
Why go on Safari holidays
All safari holidays are unlike any other holiday you will ever experience. Never again will you be able to visit a zoo after a Safari holiday through the vast plains of Africa. Observing huge herds of buffalo, zebras, elephants and giraffes in the Great Serengeti Migration is an eye opening experience and the thrill of getting close to wild lions and leopards cannot be matched. The animals are only half of what is on offer on a safari holiday with spectacular scenery and rolling landscapes lit up by blazing sunsets that will take your breath away. Local tribes and villages can be visited for a close up look into local customs which complete this cultural teleport to another world.
Safari Holiday Destinations
Safari Holidays are not limited to simply Africa as one might expect. There are countless destinations worldwide for the wildlife enthusiasts. A Galapagos islands cruise off the coast of Latin America will blow you away with its sheer variety of amazing wildlife including giant turtles and blue footed boobies. General Advice
- Keep in mind that tipping is a normal and somewhat expected procedure on all tours and many local people earn much of their income from tipping. Please take this into account when planning your trip.
- Binoculars can be a great idea for certain safari holidays not only for observing animals but for stargazing as well.
- Try and keep your luggage light, below the standard airline allowance of 20 kg as walking distances with all of your gear is necessary on certain safari holidays. Bring both a travel rucksack & daypack.
- Taking photos of local people and children can cause upset - ask yourself how you would feel if someone was taking photos of you while you were walking down the street. Always ask permission before doing so.
- Learning just a little of the language for the country in which you are taking your safari holiday will go a long way towards earning respect of the local people and also make your trip smoother and more rewarding.
