Après Ski - Things to do after a day in
the slopes
You go on a ski holiday to practice your ski skills end enjoy the
winter scenery. But after a long day skiing on the slopes, unwinding
is good, not only for your mind but for your body too. Here are
some of the best ski resorts that will provide you with great pubs,
clubs and other non-skiing activities:
Top 5 ski bars/clubs
1. Krazy Kangaruh club in St Anton, Austria is
one of the best places to visit after a long day of skiing. The
place is not in the resort and is situated next to the actual piste,
which make it easier to access for skiers. It gets busy around 3pm
when skiers like to hang up their skis and warm up with a drink
or two. Then everyone gets on the tables still wearing their ski
boots and a fake policeman comes around to breathalyses them and
see how drunk they are. The atmosphere is great and people are extremely
friendly.
How to get there: It’s about 310m up the piste from the main
Galzig lift

2. Rond Point in Meribel, France is a great bar
to warm up and have a few drinks. It has a huge terrace of the Rond
Point with live bands, an outdoor bar, and serious drinkers jumping
around and having a good time.
How to get there: The bar is really close to the piste near the
mid station of the Rhodos lift, only a few hundred meters above
the village centre itself.

3. Trofana Alm in the Ischgl ski resort, Austria
is a huge, old, wooden barn which has a first-floor
gallery and a traditional Austrian band to entertain you. When you
go, you will have to commit to this wild kind of drinking and be prepared
to enjoy it. People there are packed in very tight as it gets busy,
sweat pours down your head, and there are sticks of schnapps that
are right over your head. All you need is an hour and you’ll
be singing along to Austrian songs like a native.
How to get there: Situated right behind the Trofana Royale Hotel
on the main road

4. Gold Pan in Breckenridge ski resort, Colorado
is a fun bar to visit and warm up after a cold skiing session. You
will find that there is a hook that is attached to the wall and
a huge ring on the end of a long chain that hangs from the ceiling.
You then have to swing the ring and get it on the hook. People seem
to love it, and it seem to suit this traditional American bar, which
makes you feel as if Clint Eastwood could walk in at any moment.

5. Hotel Post club in Zermatt ski resort, Switzerland
is situated in a in a vaulted cellar underneath the Hotel Post and
is a favorite with skiers and tourists. You will find yourself dancing
away to the last countdown on top of wine barrels, and your fingers
holding to the ceiling for balance and is perhaps far more dangerous
than anything you do on the slopes during the day.
How to get there: 41 Bahnhofstrasse, situated right in the centre
of Zermatt town.
