Morzine

Morzine is a French ski resort situated in the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area. This traditional mountain town has a real 'chocolate-box' feel to it. Every Wednesday morning there's the local market – it's a great opportunity to pick up something from the variety of stalls selling produce. Situated deep in the Dranse River valley means that Morzine is not always guaranteed snow. With no seriously challenging runs the area is best suited for beginners and less-seasoned skiers and snowboarders, which has led to the Morzine being especially popular with families on ski holidays. Morzine has a buzzing après-ski there are plenty of restaurants and shops to wander round. Other facilities available include an ice-rink, ten-pin bowling, a swimming pool and more.
