Best Barbados Beaches
Barbados beaches are among the greatest in the world, made from ground coral forming a clean, fine, luxuriant and soft grained sand which is sensual to walk upon and so clean and inspiring to view and touch. There are few beaches on the island that are not made of the finest pure sand with rock pools, coves and in many cases that perfect gentle lapping sea to soak up as well. Some of Barbados’ best beaches are on the west coast, which is often referred to as the Platinum Coast; on account of its beautiful clear, warm waters and beautiful golden sandy beaches. There are several magnificent beaches here: Brandons, Batts Rock, Fitts Village, Paynes Bay, Sandy Lane and Folkestone Park in St James or Mullins Bay and Heywoods. In The South Coast of Barbados there is a mixture of the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. This coast is more lively than the West Coast but calmer than the East or North Coasts. The South coast offers something for everyone - calm swimming and snorkelling over inshore reefs. The East and North coasts of Barbados meet the Atlantic Ocean where gigantic waves often crash along the shore and coral reefs. These beaches are not recommended for swimming except for a few of the protected bays.
Did you know? Barbados is the 51st richest country in the world in terms of GDP.
