Cesme, Izmir, Turkey Holiday Review - Time alone well spent

The little town of Cesme is a good holiday to take on your own. It is extremely safe and is not a place where you will feel lonely if you happen to travel alone. One of the initial things that you see in entering the town is the springs and thermal baths around everywhere. My resort was cozy and clean and completely compatible with my personality. I loved sitting on the white sandy beaches watching the azure waters. Vendors on the beach side sold good food and spoke to you as if you were family. While in the area I had the chance to explore several other tourisitc sites I went to Alacati, Sifne Pasa Harbour and the Bay of Boyalik. They were all fantastic places, cheap to go to and well worth the time spent. I hired an instructor and learned how to wind surf. It must have been the best instructor because I learned how to stay in securely in only a couple of hours. At night I went to clubs and nights and made many friends. Women and men would come up and make free and easy conversation and invited me to eat with them the next days. Be either tourists or locals they were all nice all of the same. My personal favorite part of town was the Cesme Castle. Built I 1508 it displated all of the traditional characteristics of Ottoman Architecture and the tour was well worth the few pounds. The hot springs were very hot at 58 degrees Celsius but was curing and soothings. I might make Cesme my summer holiday home.

Ozdere, Izmir, Turkey Holiday Review - You Relax Not Party
Submitted by: Shelly
Date of travel: 13-July-2007
DO you want to Dance? DO you want to PARTY? Do you want to STAY up all NIGHT and have WILD times? Then I beg you, please do not go to Ozdere. Ozdere is a very very very quiet resort where this is not much to do outside of a few shops, eat and spend a lot of time at the beach and in the water. My 2 best friends and I chose it for our winter break spot and at first we were quite disappointed. Since we had stressful semesters we wanted to unwind and party but we turned our holiday into catching up on tons of missed sleep, eating breakfast in bed, and taking in the sun while lounging on the sand. For the nights were we wanted to let loose and have a really good time we took a taxi for 45 minutes to party at Kusadasi. That is where we had the party times of our lives where we ate dinner there, would go to a bar and then a club and return to Ozdere at 5am. Those were the times when we were glad for the quiet and last mornings. What much liked that the taxis would take us on a ride, give us their cards and when we were ready to be picked up we would call them. We did not pay a pence until the return journey was complete. Ozere is quiet but beautiful. I know that we expected something else but what we found was great too. I would go there on a romantic weekend or to take my mother to distress from her tough days. DO you want peace and quiet? Do you want to soak up the Sun? DO you want to relax? Then I urge you, please go to Ozdere.

Kusadasi, Izmir, Turkey Holiday Review - Good Clubs in Peaceful Resort
Submitted by: Allen
Date of travel: 23-November-2006
I would say that I went into town only 3 times on my two week holiday at the Kusadasi resort. I did not have to leave but thought since I was there, it would be nice to go. The resort had everything. There were restaurants, bars, and GOOD CLUBS, in a resort. That astounds me. Although it was a resort the clubs played good music and were open until all hours of the morning. There was not too much entertainment in the way of shows but the Kusadasi resort is more geared towards relaxation. Resort beach was peaceful and nice. The resort as a whole was extremely clean and held itself at a high standard of service. At times the Kusadasi was a bit busy, crowded and loud around the Irish bars but that was once in a while at night when everyone strove for good times. During the day I took day trips in the resort to ancient sites. When I did go into town I got to see a dolphin show, go on a jeep safari and got soaked on the water rides. I even ventured to Pygale beach which was a little more favorable than the resort beach and was a mere ?1 coach ride. You do get hassled to buy things at merchant shops but with a polite couple of assertive no's, the owners leave you alone.
